I have an AE project created by another artist. The moment I scrub the CTI, the graphic repeats on the screen in false colors and black and white. Any idea what’s going on and how to fix?

    Running CS5 Windows 7 64 bit Intel i7 CPU 965@3.20GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX470

    Thanks

Most likely is a matter of codecs- you are probably missing the codecs the original artist used to render out some of the files he was using.

SPACEMAN had a very similar problem recently, which was only fixed by replacing the graphics card. SPACEMAN was working too much and the graphics card was not.

I don’t think this is a codec issue. This isn’t the result of a render. It’s what I see on the monitor the moment I scrub on the timeline. I’m thinking this is a hardware or settings thing, but I don’t know where to begin looking.

It’s possibly a codec issue depending on what version of AE you’re using and what codec the footage you’re using is encoded in, but I would also suspect OpenGL. Turn off OpenGL for previews AND for rendering and see if the issue goes away.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it’s not Open GL. Turned it off and the problem still appears.

However, tried importing the comp into a new project by following the steps outlined in this post https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/2/930926 and that seems to have solved the problem.

SPACEMAN has spent the last few years with cameras, lights, computers, humans and “other toys” [classified] and was missing the COW a lot.

SPACEMAN is very happy to be back again.
SPACEMAN will try to be useful.

SPACEMAN thanks The Great Szalam for his kind words.
