I understand that a bitrate is how a video file is processed for information per second and that it affects the quality of how a video looks (the higher the bitrate the better quality but larger file size). I know that H.264 is best for web as it keeps the rate down.. but I’m struggling to understand how you know what bitrate is adequate for which output?

I guess I’m asking, what is the best workflow for changing bitrates if needed after rendering from AE? So for example, if I render something out as a Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) and I need a lower bitrate for something else, how would I go about converting it for a different output?
