Bin view help
Posted by John Knapich on December 2, 2009 at 9:36 pmWe are soon starting a large doc like project with 30 hours of “man on the street” interviews. I know I can organize my bins in list view with customized columns, labels, etc. but my producer is looking to have print outs of the bins with this info PLUS thumbnails – similar to an Avid Script view.
We are soon upgrading to FCP 7 so I am not sure if that will be an option there.
Is there a way to do this in FCP or perhaps a third party software that can help?
thanksFCP 6.06, OS 10.5.8 2x3GHZ Quad-Core Intel Xeon, Kona LHe, Dulce Duo-eSATA 8 Drive, 4TB Raid.

December 2, 2009 at 9:53 pmNo way I know to “print out” bins. You can do a screenshot of the window with the thumbnails, I guess.

December 3, 2009 at 2:16 amYou can export bins as batch lists to print them. I don’t think that the thumbnails will export, though.

December 3, 2009 at 9:12 amhave print outs of the bins with this info PLUS thumbnails – “there is no way” is a bit too strong because you can do this with a high-res screen shot containing every information on the paper you need , maybe it’s not that elegant just to hit print but it works fine ,
and yes Final Script from DigiHeaven is designed exactly for thissimilar to an Avid Script view – yes it’s similar to an avid script view

December 3, 2009 at 9:58 amAn odd post, Tamas
… “there is no way” is a bit too strong
Perhaps it is lost in translation, but Kevin did not say “there is no way”, he said “no way that I know of” … these are very different statements.
… because you can do this with a high-res screen shot containing every information
Which is exactly what Kevin went on to suggest.
… and yes Final Script from DigiHeaven is designed exactly for this
Just for clarity, it is Final Print

December 3, 2009 at 2:41 pmHey John
In List View you can right click (ctrl click) on the column headings and choose Show Thumbnail from the context menu displayed … that will give you list view with thumbnail displayed inline.
