Posted by Erichon on November 13, 2007 at 11:49 amI have stored a project and now I want to re-edit it.
What I have got:
1.All mxf and OMFI-Files
2. All m2t-files
3. All project filesWhen I open the timeline (Avid 5.6) I can see the edits, I can batchimport the narrator files and Music-files, but I don not get the Video and Original sound files!! ANY idea?
thx

November 13, 2007 at 1:03 pmWhere are your OMF and MXF files stored? All of the OMF files need to be in your OMFI MediaFiles folder in the root of your media drive. For example, if your media drive is M:\ then your OMF files need to be in M:\OMFI MediaFiles. And OMFI MediaFiles needs to be spelled exactly like that spaced exactly like there, down to the capitalization of certain letters.
Your MXF media goes in a different folder, and I don’t have an Avid in front of me. From memory it’s something like M:\MediaFiles\MXF\1 or another numbered subfolder. If you have other projects online you’ll see where the MXF media goes.
If these files are already where they belong then delete your database files in the OMFI MediaFiles folder and all of the MXF numbered subfolders. When you relaunch Avid it will rebuild the databases and relink the media.
Let us know if this helps.
Michael.

November 13, 2007 at 1:35 pmTried this already but it doesn’t work! Has it to do that I digitized with HDV split and then imported into Avid?
thx

November 13, 2007 at 2:44 pmtry ‘relink’
Also, open the media tool and see if you can find your clips.
This should definitly work if you do everything right.

November 13, 2007 at 9:08 pmMXF media is stored in the “Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1” folder and so on.
also, you can force Avid to rebuild the indexes by deleting the msmFMID.pmr and msmMMOB.mdb from the MXF and OMFI folders. This will cause Avid to re-inventory the files and build a new database… Which will often bring your files back online.Erik

November 14, 2007 at 12:54 pmIs the system you’re bringing the project to on Unity? I had this problem brining a stand-alone project to a system on Unity. The media is in a sub-directory of the media files folder.
