Not really. The native compression on the 5D stuff won’t play in realtime in FCP. You’ll always have to render your timeline and the scrubbing of your media will be jerky.

I tested that. I had to render the sequence first (which would have taken 10 hours per 30 minute sequence, I have 3) and every time I added a transition I had to render that as well, so no real help.
