    Hi,

I’m trying to export a multi-format sequence but some of my video (the HDV stuff) has this big grey rectangle across the image. I’m using a LEGAL copy of Final Cut Pro 7. Does anyone know why this is occurring?

I’ve been having problems with compatibility, but so far it seems as though the SD and XDCAM footage is okay.

    Thoughts?

    Hi Peter,

It seems you installed our Calibrated{Q} XD Decode for OSX DEMO at some point (that’s the watermark) – the uninstall instructions are in the ReadMe in the /Applications/Calibrated/Docs folder or online here:

    Cheers,

Seems to be working okay, although, I still see the grey rectangle in the clip icon on the time line in Final Cut. Maybe the cache needs to be cleared?

I will keep you posted. Thanks.

    Hi Greg,

Nope, still doesn’t work. I deleted the Calibrated folders from my computer, but when I Export to Quicktime Custom and choose my codec (in this case, H.264), it still shows the grey rectangle. Did I uninstall correctly? From the directions you sent, it seemed that I should’ve deleted all the Calibrated folders to uninstall…

    Hi,

Per Step 4 – you also need to delete the file

    /Library/QuickTime/CalibratedXDCodec.component

    – that’s the main Library folder on your ‘Macintosh HD’ not the Library folder found in your User directory.

and then you’ll probably need to restart.

After restarting you should be good to go – and you’re correct – after restarting, you’ll have to clear at any cached images that were generated with the watermark.

    Cheers,
    Greg
