    Hi,

Im working on a project (its actually a nativity play of sorts), and i am trying to make the angel look angelic. So far i have 2 video tracks. The track on top i have created a mask around the angel frame by frame so that it moves as he moves. The effects ive been using are light rays which looks pretty cool, but i also want to make his clothes bright white. Ive been trying to accomplish this with the bright/contrast effect, but it washes everything out within the masked area and looks rediculous. In short im trying to accomplish brightening up a structure within a mask, and it not look obvious that a mask is around the thing i want to make bright. Hope this makes sence.

    Thanks,
    Carson

    Try using Color Curves instead.

    Hi Gary,

Actually it was one of your projects i viewed on your site that inspired me to try this out (the latin dancers one with the purple dress and the other with the yellow dress). How might i accomplish that, but with white and with only one person?

I dont believe ive ever used color curves. Is it pretty self explainatory to use or should i view a tutorial?

It’s a luminance adjustment that is applied to the RBG channels separately or together.

Are you trying to change the color or the luminance?

Luminance, and then of course getting rid of the very obvious and prominent mask line. So that just the clothes are iluminated not the area around the person.

[Crusty] ” of course getting rid of the very obvious and prominent mask line”

You need to feather the edge some.

The glow filter might look nice.
