i’m stuck with a problem which i’m pretty sure should not be too tricky to solve but i just dont see it.
i have 3 nulls, one tracked to footage, one with a wiggle expression on it and one in the middle which is connected to the others with the beam effect. now the client would like the beam to be curvy. i already found a thread which discusses exactly that problem:
    https://mograph.net/board/index.php?showtopic=27668
somebody even posted the solution without explaining it (https://mylenium.de/_temp/nodes.mp4) must have to do sth with the obsolete path effect an some expressions but i don’t get it…
help would be hoghly appreciated! thanks in advance!

    cheers,
    hannes

Path Text is still there in the Obsolete category. Use a bunch of periods/full stops/baseline dots as the text, tighten the tracking so the characters smush together, and manipulate the control points (with or without expressions).

This Link would also solve your problem…its a purchasable script. You could link your 2 beam nulls to a mask and your third null to the script’s mask handles giving it a bezier curve.

And one more option: Draw a beam and use the puppet tool at two ends and middle, attached to your nulls.

Problem has been solved with the puppet tool. Thx guys! 🙂
