    Hi there,

I’m a fcp editor and don’t really know my way around avid – however I’ve been asked to essentially convert an avid project to a fcp project.. and my client doesn’t want to buy automatic duck – my time being considerably cheaper 🙁

Anyway – I’ve found a tool that is able to import ale files into fcp and retain most of the useful info – but I can’t find a way of batch exporting all the bins in the avid project as ale files – as there are hundreds of bins in the project it would take forever to do one by one and I’m sure there must be a quicker way –

would be very grateful if someone could give me a prod in the right direction..

    Sam.

There is no way to batch import from all bins at once. Were these clips created from an import file to start with? If so, you can always use those. And Automatic Duck would not work in this case either since it is based on sequences and you are doing all your source clips.

you could use the media tool to find all the clips in your project then create a new bin and copy all from the media tool to that bin.
