BEWARE OF PREMIERE PRO CC
Posted by Michael Johnston on December 28, 2013 at 6:30 pmBeware of Adobe Premiere Pro CC. I joined the Adobe Cloud a year ago and recently updated from CS6 to CC. BIG MISTAKE. I did not know until it was too late that Adobe has dropped Encore from CC. Frankly, I’m a little baffled by this. DVD and Blu-Ray are still a BIG part of how production companies are delivering content to clients and this move by Adobe is idiotic and makes no sense. Furthermore, once you upgrade, finding the link to reinstall CS6 from the Adobe website is not easy and took me an hour of searching.

December 28, 2013 at 6:34 pmYep, not sure why they did so this early in the game, especially with Blu Ray being still very much alive.

December 28, 2013 at 9:20 pmI’m sorry it took you so long. Googling install encore cs6 CC found the answer in less than a second. It’s pretty straightforward. Or you could just not delete encore when you upgrade to CC. Mine is still there.

December 29, 2013 at 11:07 amIf you’re a cloud member, you still have access to Encore. Since you already have CS6, you can install it via downloaded media or if you have discs, you can install it that way as well.
Check out this blog link: Premiere Pro CC and Encore CS6
It is still included as part of Creative Cloud, we just didn’t add features to it. CHeck out what’s included with CC and you’ll see Encore listed: what’s included With the last version, we had re-written the architecture to 64-bit and added a few other things. We already had blu-ray support including pop up menus and obviously a good format for using and creating menus (Photoshop).

December 30, 2013 at 4:45 pmThere are still a number of flaws when doing blu-ray pop up menu
discs that were never addressed, I really wish they had ironed
all of that out before killing it. -

December 31, 2013 at 8:38 pmBy all means submit some specific feature/bug requests and to be clear – the product is not ‘killed’ – it is still available.

January 1, 2014 at 7:43 pmI had just “discovered” encore and fell love with it… I still use DVD and Blu-ray heavily in corporate work as well as movie work, as do all my colleagues, and this won’t change any time soon. Please give it one last upgrade! I want to use it to publish commercial DVD and Blu-ray!

January 1, 2014 at 7:45 pmYou can still download Encore CS6 from the Cloud. It’s not gone. Nothing to “Beware” of.
Adobe just isn’t updating it any further.
