    I didn’t know that Max Fleischer studios started at 1600 Broadway.
    There is a NYT obit of Myron Waldman, who began there as an inker when he graduated
    from Pratt in 1930, he went on to animate and illustrate for characters including
    Betty Boop, Popeye, Superman and Casper the Friendly Ghost.
    The article has fascinating details of the old studio and the charaters.

    Since animation isn’t weather dependent, I don’t know why it went west.
