  • Better Quality DVD Encoding for Photos

I am a Mac user but am quite new to iDVD; I’ve been making photo slideshows in iPhoto for years. I typically do not use any motion in my slideshows (e.g., Ken Burns). The shows look great in iPhoto and even in the preview mode of iDVD. But when I actually create (encode) for a DVD, the quality of the photos suffers dramatically. I’ve got the encoding tuned to “Professional” but it doesn’t seem to make any difference. Is there a way to get the same quality as the originals? I’m a novice at this – I have looked around for some articles here and it seems there may be an interlace setting (for still photos at least) that I should do something about but it doesn’t look like that’s a capability of iDVD. Is iDVD up to the task to encode high quality photos or should I get something more robust?
