  • Better option than Keylight 1.2?

Hi all, we are currently running a lot of greenscreen work through the studio and we are using Keylight 1.2 . Is there a better software/hardware option than this? Open to all suggestions.

I have tried many and the one I like best is Primatte from Red Giant Software. You can rub mint flavored toothpaste on a spackled wall with one light and key perfectly. THAT’s how good it is, lol.

Primatte and Ultimatte are the two packages that come to mind for me. Ultimatte is a little more complicated to use, but you get precision control in return.

If you just need to crank out shots that all use the same environment (like your studio has a green screen stage that you use, etc.) then Keylight may be your best bet. This is simply because it tends to render faster, and it can be quicker to pull keys with.

Some of the Adobe CS3 packages came with Ultra. If you have acces to it, give it a shot. It’s a stand alone app but you can get great keys from almost any footage. Danny
