Hi-I usually work in DV codec. I have some beta tapes I need to edit, then later export to DVDSP. Ideas on the best way to bring this in to my system? I guess I’m wondering if I can capture to something other than DV, keeping the quality higher for the eventual compressing.
    Thanks-

You can capture in any of the codecs available in FCP, however you’ll need an analog capture card or device such as those manufactured by AJA or Blackmagic. You could loop the analog outputs from your Betacam deck through a DV deck, but you would be limited to DV over FireWire. Also you won’t have any control over the Betacam deck. The aforementioned capture devices provide RS422 serial control of Analog and SDI decks.
