I’m getting picture and sound, but it’s out of sync. I’ve tried various capture settings, but no go. Someone just told me that my hard drive might not be fast enough (Mac G4) and I need an array like a Raid, I sure hope that’s not the case. I’ve got the aja hardware installed in FCP, and I’ve been trying the NTSC 8-bit betacam capture, the 10-bit, and a few others, nothing works. Any suggestions? I’m posting this in the FCP forum too, I’m hoping I can get this working tomorrow.

I can only ASSUME that you are not using your internal boot drive to capture the video – are you ? Because if you are – DONT DO THAT. You can use an external FW800 (not 400) drive. I don’t think the old G4’s have FW800 busses, so you will need a PCI card with FW800 to make this work (putting a FW drive on the native buss of the MAC will conflict with the I/o LA box).

Hi Bob, I’m using an external LaCie drive for capturing. I posted this on the final cut forum too, and got a few answers that I think might help.
