What is the best way to go from capturing dv thru premiere pro to ipod and then to an hdtv . I mean compression schemes, settings(sa resolution) and work flow.
    thanks,
    Jack

DV is 720×480, I don’t know what the iPod is, but significantly less, possibly 360×240, and then you want to enlarge that to 1920×1080?

I hope you have a sufficient supply of headache pills, because it will be disastrous.

Keep it at 720×480 for the HDTV playback. No point in upscaling if everything is in standard def.

As for the Ipod, the resolution is 320 x 240 I believe.

Your best (cheap) bet here is to purchase Quicktime pro.

You can export from Premiere at 320 x 240 using the Quicktime animation codec if you want to keep an optimum quality and keep it small. Or you can export at 720×480 and let Quicktime Pro do the scaling.

Either way, you’ll need a third party encoder (such as QT Pro) for the conversion to iPod format.

    Cheers,

    Vince
