Best Workflow – 1080i to After Effects and Back
Need to key some Green Screen footage shot with EX3 at 1080i.
How do I export to After Effects and come back??
I can’t use QT Ref. It errors out. Must I create Full Res quicktimes????

Are you using keylight to key with? Spectramatte still works pretty well unless you have something like keylight to lean on.
An uncompressed QT will work fine.

IM USING keylight.
but i can’t send out a QT Ref. Only full res quicktime.
Im having an issue with fields I think. I exported LF and UF dominant, reimported and it looks 24p like..what is correct export settings?

I think the export is automatically self contained if you are working native due to the nature of the XDCAM codec.
The EX 3 shoots in an I-frame codec, meaning not all the frames really “exist”, only the I frames do. Everything else is interpolated by the processor on the fly.

can’t figure this out.
ive switched to a 30i project video looks great. i export with various options, reimport and it looks compressed!!what is best export settings?
