  • Best ways to self-teach Cinema 4d?

ok, so with this economy, i cannot afford to take a course for Cinema4d.

now, i have taught myself premiere, a little bit of after efefcts and final cut pro.

now, i want to take my editing to the the next level and doing intro’s in cinema4d seems like the place to start.
i got a training video that teaches the basics, but i feel it falls short on showing the stuff i really care about, which animated intros.
am i asking for too much?

i am no expert in AE, will learning C4D be a waste of time?

there are loads of tutorials free and paid, it will take a long time but there are more than enough online resources to get you going. AE is another program with a different purpose and if you are learning c4d maybe one day you will want it but to start with it wont matter.

    that’s what i was thinking
that learning either would compliment the other or am i wrong?

really, i want to be abel to do intro’s and i think cinema 4d will yield better results?

These programs dont do the same thing so I cant say one will get better results. An intro can be made in either application and can look great…. depends what you are looking for.

I got started with fxPHD. I am an experienced AE user and this was a good segue to understand the interface. I never finished the 3 courses but it got me comfortable with getting started. Entirely worth the $300.

I teach at Expression College for Digital Art in CA and AFter Effects and Cinema 4D are the 2 primary programs our students use while making their projects. You could do some nice intros using JUST one or the other of the programs, but in combination they produce even better results.

I have a free tutorial site with beginning tutorials:

    https://c4dtraining.com

since it’s free it can’t hurt to take a look.

    Hope it helps.
