Best way to use screen grab for HD project
I’m working on a documentary where the footage is all HD and is going to be then printed to film.
I want to use a few still images of some screen grabs of some websites that we got permission to use.
I am wondering what is the best way to get the still from the screen grab that will have a high enough resolution to look good in HD?
Got a major deadline, so a fast answer would help greatly

Assuming your grabs are clean without a lot of edge artifacts, the best thing you can do is blow them up using PhotoZoomPro. Blow them up to at least your frame size or bigger if you want to move on them. This does not scale, it creates new pixels, it is truly amazing and I use it all the time for exactly this.
Alternatively you can just use them small, depends on your design.

The easiest method is to place your CTI on the frame you want to output and using the Export using Quicktime Components command and choose the Still and select the file type for your still image. It will export at HD resolution (72 dpi).

Thanks for all your replies.
I think I am not being clear. I want to include a screenshot of the website to be in my film. What I use for place holder purposes, I take a screenshot of the website that makes it a still photo. But when I put the photo into my timeline and resize it, it looks really horrible.
With PhotoProZoom, is it a free download or how much does it actually costs? Is there a free trial? We are on tight budget that is all.

I apologize… I misunderstood you.
We use SnapZProX from Ambrosia Software. It costs $29 and works wonderfully. Now, placing images into FCP, that can get hairy sometimes. If you are only doing a few pics, I’d use Motion to place the pics and bring your Motion file into FCP for the best quality image import. But this is my opinion…

PhotoZoomPro costs a couple hundred bucks, it is well worth the investment, you can make it back on other projects. This is exactly what you need, trust me.
