As much I’d like (and will surely still request for real master files) avoid dealing with VOB transfers, I will sure copy and save this advice.

Interesting – I have an older version of TMPGenc that rips dvd’s but I would up with the same problem as Pat – problem with the audio that won’t come into Premiere (though if I watch the produced clip in various media players it’s just fine)..

I did try the trial version of AVS Media converter and it looked like it worked pretty well, but if I remember right, that doesn’t do the ripping – (or am I wrong?) just the conversion – so that would be an additional step in the workflow..

At first copy the file from dvd to ur computer hard disk.Then change the extension name of that file as *.vob to *.mpeg. then import it in to pp2. Now u have to render it or export it with ur native format.Now u get editable avi :))
