Best way to render at screenshots.
Hi, I was needing to get screen shots of some of my video and motion graphic pieces for my print portfolio out of after effects. I was thinking of having four to six shots per each 11X17 print.
I did not know what was the best way to render out stills and put them into a photoshop file. I tried just doing the save frame as option and put them all into one file in Photoshop, but when I did the print it all came out very pixelated, because of how small the stills were.

Obvious fx makes a plugin which copies current resolution of comp to clipboard. I use it routinely.

The ObviousFX plug-in hasn’t been updated to be 64-bit for CS5.

No.
Print is a very high-resolution medium. Video is not. An 11×17 print poster is going to be ~3000 pixels by ~5000 pixels if you use a standard ppi. A video frame has far fewer pixels than that. It’s that simple.
If you want a sharp print version of a video frame, you have to keep it small—or work ina huge composition that would be at IMAX size.

Just one note to add to what the others have said: “Save frame as” defaults to your current view settings. If your viewer is set to a reduced resolution or draft quality, your output will be smaller than it needs to be. Make sure you’ve set the render settings to “Best settings” for the frame in the render queue for a full-quality render.
You can also change the default render settings for frames.
