  • Best way to remove a hanger

I shot an interview and did not notice a coat hanger in the background (half out of a shadow). I need to remove that hanger. I have been playing around in motion and final cut to try to remove the offending hanger with not a whole lot of luck.

Is there a plug in that will help me ‘disappear’ a steady background image?

    Thanks
    Kristin
(and I now always check for hangers)

Yes, it is called photoshop. You can use it to paint out every frame of a shot, or you can paint just one frame, using the clone or healing brush for example, and carefully mask the overlay into the cleaned-up background.

Just be sure you are billing by the hour because you have to do that to every frame of video.
