Best way to go about rendering a tracked 3Dmodel to Drone footage and the stitching it in…
Hi all, I am new to this forum, I have used it in the past for answers but this time I need to post a question of my own!
I would like to render out a 3D animation flythrough, modelled / rendered in 3dmax / Vray using tracking information from SynthEyes (which i had to teach my self to get a decent solution!) so far I am up to the point of preparing the model to render, recreating the lighting, materials to match the drone footage as best as possible..tracking is correct and camera appears to follow footage well.
as rendering can take a while I do not want to create extra work for my self down the line, so is there any tips on what I should prepare in 3D to aid me in my composition in aftereffects? I usually only produce static CGI’s, I can produce animations, and have in the past but never over footage before. and I am pretty new to after effects even though I have extensive background in Photoshop so I get a lot of the fundamentals.
Here is a screenshot showing where my model will go, are there any good tricks on how I would mask around the foreground trees for example? the Drone does a complete orbit at a slow speed (full orbit takes approx 4 minutes so i think i’ll speed it up)!
