Yo can try it with MPEGStreamClip, an OS X application that can demux vobs and export as quicktime files. It’s quick and free. I think you can download from http://www.alfanet.it/squared5/mpegstreamclip.html

Coincidentally, I downloaded MPEG Streamclip yesterday and gave it a shot. It seems like it might work. The weird thing is, there are so many of these ripping programs and most of them just wouldn’t run on my machine! They installed OK, but when I double-click them, the icon zooms as if it’s starting, but that’s it. It never opens. I’m not quite sure what’s going on, because others have had success with them.

I was able to get Mac the Ripper and MPEG Streamclip to run, but OS ex, Yade X, MissingMpegEdit and others just wouldn’t open up and run! Does anybody have any ideas as to why that might be?

We use MPEG StreamClip 1.2 on a G5 Dual 2GHZ, Media 100 HD 10.1 and OS X 10.3.8. Maybe you need to use Apple Software Update to update your OS and try to use StreamClip again. I think you can download an older version of MPEG StreamClip that maybe runs on your environment or try to delete the MPEG StreamClip preferences.

The only thing that doesn’t work for me with StreamClip is exporting with Animation Codec. When I do this, if video levels are illegal, i get some “posterized frames”, but I use Media 100 Pal 720 or 844/X 8bit codecs.

Thanks for your response. Actually, MPEG Streamclip DOES work for me. It was the others (OS ex, Yade X, MissingMpegEdit, etc) that wouldn’t run.

The only problem I’m having with MPEG Streamclip is that it doesn’t show my M100 codecs as options in the pulldown menu for a Quicktime export. I know that my M100 is working otherwise, so the system apparently is aware of the codecs, but MPEG Streamclip can’t see them. Any ideas?

You can download the Media 100 HD 10.1 from the Media 100 website. Inside the .dmg file are included the Media 100 Codecs that you can install to use them.
