I’ll do my best to describe what I’m trying to achieve:

Imagine a sphere (which I’ll call the core), inside of a larger sphere (which I’ll call the shell). The shell is divided into about 20 segments which fit together like a jigsaw. Each segment is attached to the core by a compressed spring, and when I release the tension the shell segments should all explode outwards and bounce around on the springs (like a jack-in-the-box).

The modelling is fine, but I can’t figure out how to create the springs. From the one or two tutorials I found, C4D’s built-in spring system seems to only allow the springs to stretch out in a straight line. I need the springs at the top of the core to extend upwards and outwards, bending back down and swinging around with gravity. C4D’s springs also do not render and cannot be used as splines.

Any tips would be massively appreciated, thanks.
