  • Best way to create a flower bloom effect

I have footage (taken on a tripod) of flowers along a path and want to create an effect wherein theres grass and flowers bloom along the path.

I have made the still of the image without the flowers, using clone tooli in PS and layered it ontop. What is the best way to reveal the underneath layer of the flowers to make it look as theyre growing or blooming up? not simply an animated mask as it looks very artificial, need something more natural and flowing.

    Thanks..

Not real, but as visually pleasing as possible

Thank you Dave. Im experimenting with some different effects now and will try that. Is there any effects that can be animated in, say from 0% tolerance to 100% (or visa-versa which every way it is suppose to be)and create a more random artistic way of the flowers to be revealed.. if you understand what Im getting at?

Digieffects Freeform should work well. Cut up petals from ur flower and unfurl them with Freeform. They won’t appear from bug but they will still look good and since Freeform is 3d, u can have nice 3-dish look.
