I am doing a favor for a friend and making a demo real. I have downloaded some HD Video from Vimeo and and going to cut it with video ripped from a DVD.

The video from Vimeo is 24fps and I need to convert it to 30fps.

I have never used cinema tools, but can I do this in compressor fairly easily, or do I have to use cinema tools.

I have FCP 3. Just looking at my easy options. I have been having trouble converting frame rate. I don’t know if it is the download from Vimeo or not.

    Cheers.

Well, 24p to 30p is easy, but won’t look all that smooth. because 6 frames will need to repeat in order to get 30 frames out of 24. This looks a lot smoother when you can use interlaced formats…30i. But the web doesn’t like interlaced, only TV does.

Simply use compressor and change the frame rate. Cinema Tools will speed the footage up by20%, and you don’t want that.
