I need to convert my finished film from 29.97i to 24p for DCP. What would you recommend for best quality conversion. Would export media directly from PP Pro CC do the trick ?

PS: before someone suggests i go for 30p DCP since my original master is in 29.97…i want to play it safe because some cinema catering to indy and independent film festival can only play Interop DCP, which means only 24 or 48 fps.

The best framerate conversion is via hardware, such as Teranex.

2nd best is via hardware, such as AJA Kona card

3rd best, try cutting and pasting everything in your timeline to a new 24p timeline, render, and check for issues. You may wind up with a good quality conversion, but you won’t know until you try. (***keep in mind that Adobe has tried like heck to make Premiere as codec and framerate automatic as possible for the user)

Frame rate conversion in PP is plain horrible and the AJA Kona is not that much better. I will try the Terranex. Thx
