Best way to animate a line?
Heyya..
Guess this is quite the simple question, but what would be the best way to animate a line? The line must be semi-thick, not like a pen line…. I need it to animate from an outline around an object into a straight line….

Create a new solid.
Draw the line with the pen tool on the solid — in rough shape for now.
Apply the Stroke effect to the solid so you only see the stroke.
Animate the mask shape using mask shape keyframes.
Check the help for more info on animating masks.
