best sound filter in FCP for problem
i was wondering whats the best filter for my problem.
whoever recorded a certain bit of footage for me seems to have knocked the mic once or twice in the space of a 10 second gap, what would be the best filter to combat this but retain the speech of the interview?

Open up the sound waves in the Viewer.
Expand the waves so you can easily see the exact spot where the “bump” occurs.
Adjust the audio level sharply down specifically DURING each “bump” (then, turn it immediately back up, after the “bump.”)
You could also add the EQ and drop off the low frequencies (below 400 Hz, or so) for those brief spots, too.

In addition to bringing down the level or EQ’ing just at the “bumps”, you need to fill in those dips or changes you make in the ambience.
Find another spot on the track between interview statements and mine them for patches.
