  • Best Sound Effects Library?

Posted by Cole Reynolds on May 15, 2014 at 12:01 am

    Hi all,

Is there a consensus on which sound effect library is the best in general terms? I’m looking for a large, general sound effects library and google is giving me a lot of free download sites which I’m going to assume have fairly low quality clips. What is the “go-to” library for most?

    Thank you

I used to prefer Hollywood Edge, but that was when I had an employer to pay for it (expensive but like most things you get what you pay for).

    Anyway, another vote for Sounddogs.com

Free libraries are not always low quality. You should check out https://free-sounds.com if you haven’t already. 5,000+ of great quality sounds (previews represent download quality) and all 100% free.

I also use https://www.freesfx.co.UK although not as well organised.

Check the Sounddogs Desktop App , it’s a SFX Subscription & Free Application: app.sounddogs.com

The main goal of the app is to integrate sounds effects directly to the sound editor workflow. The subscription-based license system avoids dealing with browsers and download links.
    -Fast Search and Preview
    -Direct, Single and Bulk Download
    -Drag & Drop

The App is also a FREE management tool for local sound effects libraries.
