Best solution for voice over capture
Hi,
At the moment I am capturing voice using a Shure PG48 mic, hooked into my PC’s soundcard mic jack. As the mic is in the next room, the cord is about 6 metres long.
Mainly I have too problems, 1 – that the audio i am capturing is incredibly low, meaning i have to boost it by 12db or more. This then leads to problem number 2 as there is an audiable hum which also gets boosted and as is quite annoying.
I have been told that a usb or firewire type device with xlr audio and a good inbuilt pre-amp will solve both of those problems and give me good, clean voice audio. The four models mentioned were:
M-Audio MobilePre USB – https://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/MobilePreUSB-main.html
Steinburg Cubase system/4 – https://www.steinberg.de/ProductPage_sb2ab4.html?Product_ID=2142&Langue_ID=2
Lexicon Omega system – https://www.lexiconpro.com/Omega/index.asp
Digidesign Mbox – https://www.digidesign.com/products/mboxSo just wondering if any users have any experience with any of the above solutions using Audition.
Many thanks
Pablo
