Best Settings Rendering & Project Properties for AVI??
Hi,
I have Sony Vegas 9e Pro. I use a Canon DSLR EOS 7D in which I convert my HD video files to AVI through Cineform. All is working fine within the Vegas timeline. My question is, what is the best Render and Project Properties settings for this format? My final output will be to DVD and/or Blu-ray by using DVD Architect 5. You should deliver DVD’s using the following:
Video: MainConcept MPEG2 template DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream
Audio: Dolby Digital AC-3 Pro template Stereo DVDThese two files should be named the same (just with different extensions). This will give you the best quality for authoring your DVD in DVD Architect. If you shot in 24p or PAL use the 24p or PAL templates instead.

Awesome! Thanks for the help John. Would I be right to assume that these settings would be the same for Blu-ray? Do you have any setting suggestions for my “Project Properties?” It appears that HD 1080-60i (1920×1080, 29.970 fps)would be the one, but not sure. Thanks again, Ray

Yes, HD 1080-60i (1920×1080, 29.970 fps) sounds like the right project properties for that camera. For Blu-ray rendering I would still use MainConcept MPEG2 but I would use one of the “Blu-ray…” templates instead. There should be one there for 1920×1980-60i @ 25Mbps. That’s the one I’d use.
