best settings from HDV timeline to web file
Hi all,
I’m after people’s advice on how to go from a HDV timelime to a web playback file (possibly flv or wmv?) that is to be streamed on a website. I’m after maxiumum quality and something that will start playing the start whilst buffering the rest of the video as the length will be quite long.
I have never used flash but I have it installed and have been advised that flv might be the best route?
I have read up a lot of threads online but people only seem to recommend paid external programs. Is there nothing in premiere’s media encoder that does a good enough job?

Exporting for the web is trial and error.

yeah I know… has anyone else ‘tried and errored’ and got a workflow that they find works best?

must be quite a large file size if its 720p?
But thanks for that suggestion I’ll take a look. I take it that being WMV means you dont need to upload a player to your website like you would if you used flash? -
I am a complete noob when i come to webbuilding (thats why i use WYSIWYG webbuiler instead of Dreamwever) but does not most web software come with build in players?

no i dont think FLV files play without uploading a player and possibly an .swf file but I’m trying to find a definitive answer to this but cant find it anywhere.
Would a Mac user be able to stream a wmv file okay?
