    Hi All,

I have a 3 minute video in the DV/DVCPro codec. I need the file size to be 100 MB or under and it can be in .mpeg4, 3gpp, .mov, .avi, .mpegps, .wmv, .FLV. Right now when I export it using current settings from FCP it comes out to about 660 MB. Converted to H.264 it comes out to 254 MB.

I am trying to preserve as much video quality as possible while meeting that narrow time restriction. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mark

Did you try taking it into Compressor and using one of the H.264 presets? QT 7 LAN…the highest setting, will be well under 100MB

    Hi Shane,

Thanks for the tip, that worked great. What would your suggestion be for a starting point for uploading to Youtube. My raw video files are three and five minutes long and end up being around 1 GB in size, which takes about 3 hours to upload to youtube.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mark

1GB? That’s pretty big for YouTube. I have a 3 min piece myself that I converted to the YouTube H.264 format using the preset in Compressor. It’s in OTHER WORKFLOWS>WEB. That made a file that was about 100MB.
