    The footage is Canon C100 at 60i.
    On DVD, all motion is mushy and terrible.

    It’s fine after deinterlacing.

    Is there a better solution for getting
    motion to look good with this camera
    when going to DVD?

    FCP Export: Quicktime Movie – Apple ProRes 422 NTSC 48 kHz Anamorphic
    Compressor – DVD MPEG-2 Video High Quality, Two-Pass VBR Best, Motion Estimation: Best
    and
    DVD Studio Pro

    iMac 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB
    OS 10.6.8
    Final Cut Pro 7.0.3
    Canon C100

    Dave,
    Thanks for the idea.

    I think we already know this works – i can solve the
    problem of moving objects appearing to have a tail
    that follows them by deinterlacing all video.

    My question was are there other things I can do
    in addition to deinterlacing that make the motion
    appear smooth and the video highest possible resolution?

    (For instance different FCP export settings and Compressor
    settings)
