Just starting on AE. It took me 4 years to get the hang of Ulead’s Cool 3D so I am trying to shortcut my AE learning curve.

I work in PAL both full res. and compressed DV. I understand that the field dominance of full res. PAL is Upper Field First and that the field dominance of PAL DV is Lower Field First so I will have 2 different outputs for the 1 animation.
    I can live with this.

In Cool 3D i prepared widescreen anims as 1024 x 576, standard 4:3 as 720 x 576 and saved them as 32 bit .avi files. I saved them as both Upper Field First and Lower Field First and they imported overlayed and played back on a TV monitor faultlessly.
I have tried a couple of simple anims on AE but I can never get them to render as fieldsonly frames and they are a wee bit jittery on TV playback.
Any ideas on which settings are best for me?

Not that hard…. just look at your render settings at output module

Still can’t determine how to set the field dominance for output on either 32 bit .avi or .mov files
