Best setting to export 480 24p out of FCP

I hear you. Workflows are being invented every day now. There is a lot of information flying around and only a few proven theories. Producers make choices based on one conversation, a deal or instinct. What comes out the other end (the post end) is having to deal with all of it.

5.0.4 was the first FCP release that would import P2 media. Media 100 hasn’t even implemented it yet, nor have some others. THis is the very begining of P2 on a very wide scale and all of the challenges are coming up at the same time.

Okay, so now you have some 24pNormal material that you have to cut in with dv50 60i material. the 24pNormal stuff is from a P2 camera where all of the files are residing on NAS. Since 24p Normal is already at 29.97, why don’t you edit it in, then use the nattress standards converter to either turn your 60i to 24p Normal (of sorts) or turn your 24p Normal to 60i? If you have all of the proper P2 files, you don’t need a camera, all you need is FCP 5.0.4.
