  • Best screen sharing software for FCPX with client?

Posted by Matt Wilson on June 29, 2017 at 5:44 am

    Hi,

I’m going to be reviewing a film project being edited on FCPX with a client, and wanted to open FCPX on my screen, and do a screen share session so the client can see and hear my FCPX screen. Any recommendations on the best software to do this? Any way to do this with multiple screen as I usually have 2 screens running on FCPX?

    Thanks,
    Matt

TeamViewer. It’s Mac and PC and it is free.

There is also Zoom and Appear.in

Both will allow you to share your desktop and both work reasonably well in limited bandwidth environments. Zoom will limit you to 40 minutes with their free account but supports up 100 participants. Appear.in only works with Chrome, Firefox, or mobile devices but is unlimited time and supports up to 8 people.

We use to use Skype and Google Hangouts, but have found that these others services have much higher quality, especially when multiple people join.

[Warren Eig] “TeamViewer. It’s Mac and PC and it is free.”

Not really. You’re supposed to buy a license for commercial use. The free version is for friends and family only.
