  • Best Rendering Settings?

Posted by Ben Vera on October 26, 2010 at 5:41 am

    Hi,

I have a 1.5 hour video shot in DV that I’d like to burn onto a 4.7 gigabyte DVD. I know very little about rendering settings; what’s the easiest option for good quality?

    Thanks!

P.S. I’m thinking .wmv with “Best” video rendering quality. Since I’m not in HD anyway, do I need anything higher than 3 Mbps? For audio and video, do I want VBR or CBR? A very specific answer to the entirety of settings would be most helpful.

DVD’s only accept MPEG2 video so don’t waste your time with WMV.

Render the video using MainConcept MPEG2 with the DVD Architect NTSC video stream template.

Render the audio using Dolby Digital AC-3 Pro with the Stereo DVD template.

Give these both the same name, just with a different extension and DVD Architect will know that they belong together when you drop them onto your menu.

Alternately, render back to DV AVI file and drop that into DVD Architect and let it worry about converting it correctly for DVD. Both options work fine.
