best rendering setings
Hi
I have Praktica camera that makes .mov video files in HD 720 an 1080. and i use vegas 9 to edit those videos. what is thee best way to render those files?

That depends… what do you want to do with them? I assume you want to watch them on your PC or post to the web. Use the Sony AVC encoder for that. If you have Vegas Pro 9.0 use one of the “Internet” presets.

Ok thanx! I’m allready using Sony AVC encoder, I just want to know is that the best way to keep quality of my video. And I have one more question. I have some videos that I create with low light and they have some “granulation” (i don’t know if this is good expression because I’m not an expert). I was wondering if there is a way to clear those videos in vegas?

To clean up low light noise you can try the Sony Median FX with any of the noise reduction settings. You might also want to try the free plug-ins from Mike Crash. Dynamic Noise Reduction and Smart Smoother might help. Finally for really tough noise there is Neat Video but you have to buy it.

How do you get the Mike Crash filters into the Vegas program. I downloaded a couple and see they went into there own folder within Vegas. Looking to get them in the FX menu.

If you installed them they will show up under the Video FX menu. They are DirectX filters so it doesn’t matter where they physically install to. They get registered with Windows and show up in all of your DirectX filter capable programs.

I installed them and like I say the filter folder contains them, but the program does not…New blue trials went right in. These did not

John, They are not supported in 64 bit. I clicked on the 32 bit program and there they were…..

Oh yea, I keep forgetting that some people are using Vegas 64-bit (not me). Yup, lots of stuff doesn’t work in 64-bit mode (which is why I don’t use it).

It is limited to what you can use, but it should all catch up. At least you would think so...In the meantime I used a post-it note with 64 bit written on it and stuck it to my desk.
