I have read and read but I can’t find the answer to this. What is the best way to render to get the best output. I thought doing the Option/R would give me the best quality but it seems I have to also check the “Full”. I record to my DSR20 from the timeline so that is why I need to know. After doing the Option/R I was seeing some very light grey on the top of the timeline. I couldn’t see any difference in playing it when a previous part of the clip was dark grey or light grey. If I place the pointer over the light gray it says Full and the dark gray area says Media. The Full is in a cross dissolve transition.

Is there one keystroke that will render everything 100%?

Full means that it has the capability to playback in RT at full quality. Checking to render stuff that is tagged as FULL means that it will render it, even though your system, card, etc. can play it back at full quality in RT.

Doesn’t mean it won’t skip a beat and drop a frame. I check every render box and if I hit option+r I want everything rendered. No guessing. I hate those silly check items almost as much as the problems that fill this forum because they default to being unchecked.

    Hey Andy

If you have everything activated on your Sequence > Render All menu, then opt-R should render at best quality.

This in an awesome article; it really helps one get their head around RTExtreme and rendering.

    Hope this helps.
