Best quality QT files…
There are two ways to export as a QuickTime file, and I cannot find any reference which explains the difference and comfirms which is a better file. I would appreciate views on this.
Export > Quicktime Movie > Settings etc.
or
Export > Using QuickTime Conversion… > Format > QuickTime Movie >Options etc..I am saving using DVCPRO HD 720p60, highest settings, 1280 X 720.
The files are from the HVX-200.
Final files are exactly the same size, the colour on the non-conversion version (option a above) to be more pleasing.Any thoughts would be most welcomed, thanks.

Well…
The first setting is for just exporting your timeline as it is. The second is for exporting to a different size for web output or still images, you get to set the output size.
What are you trying to do? Output to web?

Wayne’s right, and there isn’t any better quality than using Current Settings. In some circumstances you may want to convert your file to Uncompressed or Animation, or change your 8bit to 10bit, but none of that will increase your video quality, it will only help graphics and other elements you add to that video.

It is being output for stock, and I am doing it one clip at a time after editing, so it is the only clip on the time line, so I could do it either way….
Why would the colour be slightly different…and the size is slightly different, even though I am selecting 1280 x 720 in both cases?Paul
