I can do it on either one. Are ou saying it depends what the station asks for?

Yes. Conversions just take time and can decrease quality.

1080i from the Pana is only about 10% better than 720p. And compressed (for broadcast) 720p looks much better than 1080i if the bandwidth is the same.

I started shooting a show 1080i. Would it be a problem to coverted to 720p , if i decided to start shooting everything 720p or should i keep it 1080i. Are stations, like Discovery accepting 720p, i heard they only want 1080i.

Once you started in 1080i, stick to it. Good de-interlacing is time-consuming and takes quality away.

Discovery not only wants 1080, they also dont’t accept more than a certain amount of low-cost camcorder footage (including the HVX) in the whole project. We had this discussion before here at the Cow, just search for it.

Thank you Uli. It seems that the quality is never good enough no matter what. The good news is that there are many other netwoks that we can offer our programs. I friend of mine has ashow called the Bite. they shoot everything with the Z1 and they are not doing bad at all.
