I have to move my precious camera original card files from a PC formatted drive to new Mac formatted ones.

Should I use Media Manager to do it, or the Finder or something like ChronoSync with error checking turned ON ?

I have been getting the odd error report using 3rd party backup software with Verification ON when downloading camera card files to USB drive on my PC so I am nervous I will get small errors introduced and that they might not be reported by the Finder or Media Manager. I guess I don’t know what verification the latter do or don’t do and whether they do just the same (but invisibly) checks as the multitude of 3rd party backup softwares around that boast various forms of file checking options that can be activated (eg. ChronoSync).

You should just be able to drag & drop them in the Finder, but if you want, you can also try Carbon Copy Cloner.

    Thanks for the response.
I’m really trying to ascertain what the differences are, in terms of 100% reliable copies, between all these ways to copy and whether the extra paid-for software is worthwhile.
