Best Mic for Big Boomy Room
Hi,
I’m going to be shooting a workout video in a large warehouse. Audio is an issue. To cut down on sound reflection/reverb, what kind of lav should I use for the workout instructor. He’s going to be speaking loudly, only amplifying the problem. Would a super cardioid lav be the way to go?
Any “sound advice” is appreciated!

I would go with a Countryman headset. Your biggest issue with a lav would be clothing noise with that much movement.
You basically want something very close, and well attached.

I agree, the Countryman or DPA head worn mics.
Some head worn mics attach to one ear and some to both ears.
They can be flesh colored and they sound great.https://www.dpamicrophones.com

There are three types of people in this world, those that can count and those that can’t. -
If it is a hyper or super, be very careful with positioning. Those patterns are more pop sensitive.
It’ll have to be back on the cheek a bit.
