best mic for a documentary

Hello Roberto and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum,

You’ve given no information as to how or where you’ll be shooting your documentary. Inside, outside, in houses, big rooms, small rooms. How will you support the mic. Where do you intend to put it.

Shotguns aren’t the best choice for many acoustical environments. Hypercardioids are better, but may not have the reach. A hardwired lav might also be better.
