Best method or software plug-in for scratch removal…tried Boris Wire removal
I scanned a 1000 feet of 16mm and the customer wants the scratches removed. Some sections are clean but some sections have as many as three scratches all running vertical. I tried using Boris Wire removal FX and I found that the width necessary to remove the scratches caused a blurred line that was just as noticeable as the scratch (if not more distracting). Is there another tool, plug-in, or method within Vegas?

That kind of restoration work takes very specialized software and experts to work on. That’s what I gather from what I’ve read about film restoration. I would think you’d have to contract it out to another company.
