Best memory card for GH5
Hi there
I’ve just got a GH5.
I’m after a couple of new memory cards to make the most of 4k. I want SanDisk as they’ve never let me down – unlike other makes!
I appreciate the gb size is up to me (I’m looking at about 128 simply due to budget).
But… here’s where it gets tricky.
Do I go with Sandisk Extreme or Sandisk Extreme Pro? I can’t tell the difference.
And what data rate? 4k and HD ranges between 200-400mbps in most cases on the GH5. So does that mean I have to get a 400mbps memory card? Or can I come in less?
And here is 128gb Sandisk Extreme Pro
All have the same symbols and markings etc but one has Pro on it and costs a lot more (and is in black). What is the difference?
If high bit rate and Extreme Pro is the way to go it may have to be:

From my research, the speed difference (which is more about burst speed) doesn’t matter much for video recording (which is constant).
We got the Pro anyway – but it was for business, not my personal money ☺
It could be a better idea to spend the money on more cards, instead of more expensive cards.

Thank you so much. That is really helpful and I can take that info with me now.
By luck I had already done what you said and brought more cards (4 x 128gb at 90mbs) instead of the speed. Which having now learnt only applies to photos is great – and lucky!
