September 14, 2010 at 3:30 amCompared to the upload time between DVCProHD and full raster mpeg4, you will have the mpeg4 at the other end fast and converted into ProRes by Compressor and be editing long before the DVCProHD is uploaded.
I think people are forgetting the fact that you need to upload and there is no point trying to put a pig through a python.
Compressor can make ProRes so much faster than FCP can render if all cores are enabled with Qmaster.

I don’t know the kind of MP4 that you can get from Adobe Media Encoder, but i wouldn’t go with any of the MP4 flavors that FCS3 offers. At least for stuff that needs to be re-edited. No High profile.
